Considered by classical authors to be from \u0394\u03b1\u03c1\u03b5\u1fd6\u03bf\u03c2<\/em><\/a>(Dare\u00eeos, \u201cDarius<\/a>\u201d) who standardized the coinage as such, but this is a folk etymology<\/a>.
