BACKGROUND
Amanda Ava Koci, popularly known as Ava Max, is just now emerging into the music world and is already becoming a pop sensation. She has been working towards this goal since her childhood, as success didn’t come easy to her. Now, however, she’s secured a bright future for herself. She was born on February 16, 1994, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius, and her ethnicity is Albanian. She is the daughter of Pavllo and Andromaqi Koci, who immigrated from Albania, and she also has an older brother. She started to compete in singing competitions when she was a child and through her pre-teen years and released music under the stage name Amanda Kay, which she later changed to Ava. At 14, she decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music, but she moved to South Carolina after not finding luck. She tried again when she was 17, with her brother as her manager.
Throughout 2019, she continued to release singles, feature in songs, and even won her first awards, including an M.T.V. Europe award for ‘Best Push Act.’ In 2020, she released a single called ‘Kings & Queens,’ which became her second big hit, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, and got a remix featuring Lauv and Saweetie in August of the same year. In September, she released her debut studio album “Heaven & Hell,” which peaked at number 27 on the Billboard 200. In 2021, she was featured on ‘The Motto’ by famous D.J. Tiësto.
When she was 20 years old, she met Canadian producer Cirkut, and the two started working together. She wrote numerous songs before releasing ‘Anyone But You’ in 2016, attracting the attention of record labels. In the same year, she signed a deal with Atlantic Records. After signing, she adopted Max as the last name for her stage name and began wearing her Max Cut, which is now a central part of her artistic image. In 2018, she began to release more singles and was featured in some songs, but one, in particular, stood out. Her single ‘Sweet but Psycho’ brought her her much-desired commercial breakthrough, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number one in several countries.
